There are several sights worth visiting, such as the Temple of Poseidon, which was built in Doric style about 520 b.C. The stones were porous limestone from Egina. The temple was destroyed in a big earthquake around 395 A.D.To the east of Galatas are the famous lemon-groves, Lemonodassos. There used to be more than 30.000 lemon trees in the forest. A walk through the forest ends at a closed taverna. Behind the taverna is a small waterfall. Also, there is the monastery of Poros. The history of the Monastery reaches back to the beginning of the 18th century, when a bishop from Athens, Iakovos II, was cured by drinking water from a spring at Poros. Poros Archaeological Muséum is situated at Koryzi square. It is a small but very interesting museum. The objects are from excavations of ancient Kalavria and Troezen. The clocktower is the first thing you see when you approach Poros from Piraeus. It rises above the city and tells everyone the time. The bell rings every hour. There are many steps up to the tower, but it's well worth the effort. Finally, Bourtzi is the small island that is situated in the east entrance of Poros.
The (Bourtzi) Island Castle was first recorded as being built in the times of Byzantium.

They are opened until dawn and, especially in August and during the week-ends, the night can get quite hectic.The famous and very popular night club Kalypso is lying on Neorio Beach, among the pine trees and offers great fun until the early hours of the morning.
