The small town of Arahova can be found next to Delphi, at just 12 km distance. It is also at 180 km from Athens, and 25 km from the great beach resorts of Itea, Antikyra and Galaxidi. Arahova is also the seat of its own municipality. It belongs to the prefecture of Viotia, and can be found on its Western area. It has 3300 inhabitants, and its nice houses are settled on the slopes of five small hills on the mount Parnassos, at an altitude that ranges between the 800 and 1100 metres.The name Arahova derives from the South Slavic words "ara" and "hova", which mean "walnut trees", in reference to the many ones found in the area.

Although its closeness to Delphi has been very positive for this city in terms of tourism, it has developed its own attractions, and it is a popular location at present. Arahova is very much related to skiing, as it is placed at 15 km from the ski centres of Parnassos and presents a suitable environment for this activity.
